We’ve collected the best of ultrasound education in one handy place to help you get started and provide the more seasoned ultrasounders with specific resources to keep building their ultrasound skills.

Where to Start

Start with the Essential Resources page to help you get oriented to the amazing (and free!) ultrasound resources already out there. Once you’ve gotten familiar with the essential ultrasound resources, check out our comprehensive, completely FOAMed-based FOAMed Ultrasound Curriculum to help you learn specific scans you’re interested in and get a general intro to ultrasound use. Start by completing the first two learning modules, “Orientation to Ultrasound” and “Intro to Ultrasound”, and you’ll be well on your way to getting started with bedside ultrasound.

We’ve also got a section dedicated to taking your ultrasound skills to the next level once you’ve gotten started. After you’ve had some practice, plugged into some ultrasound resources, and completed a few FOAMed Ultrasound Curriculum learning modules, take the next step in your ultrasound education with our Beyond Basics page.

If You’re a Med Student or Medical Educator

Check out our Ultrasound Interest Group (USIG) Toolbox. Its full of resources for starting a medical student-run ultrasound education group to provide students with ultrasound education now and help promote ultrasound curriculum integration. If you’re a student who’d interested in ultrasound, this is a great way to create your own ultrasound education and build a community of ultrasound at your medical institution. There’s new resources being added all the time, so be sure to keep an eye out for those.
